Think About The Good Times (mono mix) – The Iveys – This one was written by The Iveys drummer, Mike Gibbins. However, we have here a mono which until now was never available on CD until this collection. The mix was slightly different on both albums. This song was on The Iveys album, Maybe Tomorrow and also on Badfinger’s Magic Christian Music. This collection is nice because it offers up some gems and alternate mixes from Badfinger’s Apple-era recording sessions. With this personnel change came the band’s name change to Badfinger. To fill the void of Tom’s move to bass, Joey Molland was brought in as the band’s lead guitarist. Their manager didn’t want any outside distractions in the band and he felt a child would definitely be a distraction.
Tom Evans was The Iveys guitarist but replaced Ron Griffiths on bass in 1969 when Ron Griffiths was forced out of the band by their manager due to his girlfriend at the time getting pregnant. The Iveys were signed to Apple Records in 1968 whose band members were Pete Ham, Tom Evans, Mike Gibbins and Ron Griffiths.īadfinger consisted of Pete Ham, Tom Evans, Mike Gibbins and Joey Molland. The Iveys and Badfinger were essentially the same group. The first disc contains alternate mixes and previously unreleased songs by The Iveys and Badfinger.
